The New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM) is an active group representing solid waste professionals across the state. Amy Miller, P.E., Director of the Madison County Department of Solid Waste was elected president at the fall conference in Lake Placid.
David B. Rhodes, Director of the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste, was elected as vice president. In addition, the Board of Directors is composed of ten representatives, four At-Large Directors, as well as a Secretary and a Treasurer.
The association is a volunteer 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization pursuant to the Internal Revenue code. NYSASWM addresses issues that affect solid waste management in the State of New York as well as issues at the federal level. Board meetings are held quarterly and current topics of concern are discussed. NYSASWM welcomes new members and encourages participation in its activities.
