Who we are

The New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM) is an active group representing solid waste professionals across the state. Currently, the President of NYSASWM is Rich Bills, who is in charge of Recycling and Environmental Compliance for the Steuben County solid waste system.

Serving as Vice President is Amy Miller, P.E., director of the Madison County Department of Solid Waste. In addition, the Board of Directors is composed of ten representatives, four At-Large Directors, as well as a Secretary and a Treasurer.

The association is a volunteer 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization pursuant to the Internal Revenue code. NYSASWM addresses issues that affect solid waste management in the State of New York as well as issues at the federal level. Board meetings are held quarterly and current topics of concern are discussed. NYSASWM welcomes new members and encourages participation in its activities.
